The Mourning Dove

The ravens had gathered overhead.
Their circle of darkness loomed above.
Their cries were those of ones long dead.
The night hath murdered the mourning dove.

In the cover of night the birds of black flew,
Hovering and waiting just below the sky.
They hung above my frame as if they knew,
What was to happen and who was to die.

Like Democles' Sword their taunts hung.
Their feathers like a cloak sewn of shadow.
My last rites they left unsung.
Devil's eyes hallowed but hollow.

From bloodless beaks they screamed,
With cries of souls being devoured.
From this I knew it was not dreamed,
The wings of death had around me towered.

When Sammy and I wake up, it's as cold as Winter.

"Christopher, they are awake!" someone shouts.

"For God's sake, Sarah McLauchlan, don't frighten me like that!"

Two people, a womon about 44 years of age and a Kid of about 18, walk in. The Woman carries a dagger and a short sword around her waist while the kid carries a sword and dagger at his side, and an impressive looking Sword and Shield on his back much like that guy from that videogame does except this kid's Sword faces his right. Peering out from inside your closet
Scratching in your walls while you sleep

I'm the bump in the night
Tapping beneath your bed springs
As the witching hour dawns

In the blackest black
I see you clearly
Jolting upright at every little sound

My laughter sounds like squeaky floorboards
My breath like wind leaking through a cracked window
But you'll never hear my footsteps

I'm in every child's nightmares
By now you've been taught that I don't exist

He dragged his lethargic and tired body,
down the lonely road.
The war's still going on and on and on.
Miles and miles he didn't realised,
that he was pursued by them.
Round the next corner
they cought him,
hit him,
battered him…
The treated him like an animal,
used him like a piece of dirt.
And then they left him there,
crying,
bleeding,
dying.
Nobody ever knew,
what happened to him,

Bloody kisses,
of the dying soldier,
his ugly face next to mine,
his cut arms,
around my neck,
his broken hands,
on my body…
He's screaming in pain and sorrow.
He gives me the creeps,
but he's still holding on,
forcing me to do a blow-job,
to make him keen…
and the only thing I then can remember is,
that he died,

October… a time of shifting, when Darkness stirred.
Humanity had only an inkling of what it all meant. Veils, realms, the Outside, what humans called the natural world… they did not know. How could they, that short-lived species who thought splitting the atom was noteworthy, that setting foot on Luna was cause for celebration?
It was not their fault, the being knew, and he did not begrudge them their ignorance. In fact, he agreed with a particularly learned one of their sages, a man who spoke of a "placid island of ignorance" upon wBlack Seas Ahead by *JamesE82
